Baytree Lodge Reviews

Elizabet
We had a nice stay at Baytree Lodge. The kids loved the pool, and it suited them very well. Easyish access to the sea and the shingle beach. A great base from which to explore. Everyone we spoke with were friendly and welcoming. The picture of the property gives the impression that it is directly on the main road. It is misleading as the Lodge is on a culdesac fronted by a number of properties and is overlooked by neighbours from the front. The kitchen and utility room are well equipped, the wifi worked well, and the Games room made a big difference to us. I was impressed that Dream Cottages contacted us on Monday to see how wed settled in, reacted quickly to our complaint about the cleanliness of the two cookers and hob and followed up to check we were satisfied. They also contacted us when we had left coats in the property. In terms of feedback to the owners . The ovens are in need of a regular deep clean. Please consider increasing the basic provision, which is Inadequate, in our view, especially given the cost of the week. Only two teacloths, three dishwasher tablets, a tiny tube of washing up liquid and some antibacterial spray probably left by previous guest were provided. There is no handwash or hand cream, and no shower gelshampoo & conditioner in any of the bathrooms. We have had these provided in other properties in the UK, so odd that not here. And no sound system yet TVs in every room!

We've recently returned from a lovely week's holiday, at Baytree Lodge, a family of 11, 3yrs to 79yrs. It is an amazing property & well located. The welcome box was a lovely surprise! The bedrooms are so comfortable. The swimming pool was great, used every day. The only problem we had, was leaving! Valerie

The property was absolutely perfect for our 3 generation holiday. The house itself was very spacious and well equipped and spotlessly clean. The kitchendining family room worked really well for us. The indoor pool and games room were excellent and provided hours of entertainment for everyone. The bedroom layout also worked perfectly for us. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Baytree Lodge.

We had a wonderful stay during one of the hottest weeks of the year, which made the pool very appealing! Lovely views across countryside at rear of house with adjacent public right of way across fields if you like walking. Very spacious, well equipped, luxurious and comfortable inside. Games room was a big hit with all as was the play area with younger ones. Very nice pub with good food just 4 mins walk from house down the hill. Helpful tip for owner, not a criticism, as there were none a welcome addition would have been plastic beakers to take into pool area so we could have had a drink there? Also, maybe an extra wheely bin for the recycling which was substantial with 10 of us. Also to list on inventory that you had hairdryers and an iron we didn't want to assume! All in all would recommend this as a beautiful house to stay. Thank you too for the welcome arrival hamper nice touch.
This house is amazing. There is so much space, that even as a group, you don't ever feel on top of each other. There is ample parking and a lovely enclosed garden which is excellent when taking a dog. The pool area is just fantastic and so well maintained. The games room is another great addition and kept the children busy when they weren't swimming! The kitchen is well equipped and the only issue we had with the hot water to some areas was resolved immediately. The location is perfect as you have options of beaches and sightseeing within 5 minutes drive either way you turn.
An absolutely stunning property! Could not fault any aspect. Plenty of space and each room comfortable and nicely decorated. Beds very comfortable and lovely having en suites for each bedroom plus an extra bathroom upstairs and a downstairs toilet. Kitchen area is spacious and cupboardsdrawers are filled with lots of crockeryglassescutleryetc that you could possibly need. Outside space to sit and chill and look at the fields. The games room is great fun! The swimming pool is stunning, so warm and clean! Ideal depth so all of us were able to use both ends for our swimming pool Olympics!

Excellent property very well equipped and immaculately clean. Minor plumbing problem and refuse collection issue sorted efficiently and quickly. Just a couple of suggestions would it be possible to include tea and coffee making facilities in the annexe bedroom to save the cold walk in the morning to the main house? And just another thought could the information about the location of the internal door keys be in a more prominent place in the info folder to make it easier to find on arrival? But these are minor points. The property is wonderful and perfect for a large group of mixed ages.

Brilliant house for a family celebration. Lots of space for everyone to enjoy and relax. House was very clean, agree with some previous reviews that the showers are very loud, however if you're not using them in the middle of the night when people are asleep not sure there is really a problem! Bath towels were soft and bed linen was comfortable. We met the owners on arrival accidently! as we were 30 mins early but they were happy to let us in and were very friendly and welcoming. The pool was great fun, some of the lights in the room weren't working but that didn't stop us using it would maybe just suggest that these are checked for future guests. Would happily recommend this property to others.
This was our second stay at this property so we knew what the routine was, overall we loved our stay, only a slight concern about the lack of instructions regarding the glass disposal, wasnt clear on where to put the bottles, contacted Sykes for some guidance, they werent too sure, so we just put them alongside the recycling bin as advised by Sykes customer services, we did notice when we used the washing machine that it was extremely loud when in use, maybe a service is due on it. But 1010 for everything else, would definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely time as a family weekend. The property and pool were immaculately clean. The facilitates were brilliant catering for our family aged 3 and up to 70. The hamper is a nice welcome. Also the games room and pool entertained everyone. The kitchen was well equipped and enabled us to cater for lots of family meals. The only nit pick is we could have done with more toilet rolls and a warning about the hot water which comes out of the tap which is in the middle of the bath. I would definitely recommend this house to friends and will defiantly be back.

We had a fantastic week at Baytree lodge. It has everything you need and is very spacious. The house, bedding and towels were spotlessly clean. I was very surprised how nice and warm the house is considering the size of it. The highlight was definitely the pool which we all enjoyed everyday. Very close to Weymouth and various supermarkets and we walked it to Weymouth and back along the coast which was lovely. I would definitely recommend Baytree lodge for that perfect getaway. Thank you for the lovely hamper too.
We were really looking forward to this holiday, but said to say we found it lacking. Most of it only niggling little things but they mounted up...from showers that didn't work without loud noises to seats that were so low we had trouble getting out of them. I sat in a chair at the table the whole week and even they were very rickety. We booked it for the swimming pool, which in the end I didn't use due to the flight of steps we had to negotiate. Also lacked a shower in the pool area which meant we would have to have gone upstairs.
We had a fabulous holiday with all of our family ten in total. The children loved the swimming pool, and used it every day. Would thoroughly recommend Baytree Lodge. Unfortunately we won't be booking next year as the property is no longer pet free. When we booked it was pet free, however when discovered pets were now allowed, the owners carried out a full deep clean before we arrived. Thank you for being so understanding
A fabulous holiday home with everything thoughtfully provided. Thank you also for the welcome hamper. The swimming pool was excellent and enjoyed by all the family. Osmington is conveniently placed near Weymouth with all its amenities and the quieter Ringstead Bay where you might be lucky to get an ice cream from the ice cream boat which sails up to the beach ! If there is just one thing missing, it is a recycling bin in the kitchen, but this is a very minor suggestion as everything was perfect.
Antoinette
This was a lovely house with plenty of room for three generations. The ensuite bathrooms to every bedroom were a godsend as was the pool. It is a bit echoey as there are few soft surfaces and it did lack more upright chairs which may have been easier to get out of than the very low, but comfortable, sofas. It was lovely being able to take our dog but be aware the garden is not secure. Fantastic location!
We had a wonderful week at Baytree lodge. We would highly recommend this property. Great location too
Great property, very well equipped, clean and very comfortable, includding the games room. It kept everyone entertained during one rainy, stormy day. A family get together, perfect for my little granddaughter who has additional needs, she really loved the swimming pool. General feedback, not complaints Slide and climbing frame a bit weathered and dinning chairs could do with a cushion, you can feel the springs, couple of showers could not alter shower head angle, but minor as eveything else was perfect. We had a great getaway, with beautiful countryside and local attractions close by. Highly recommend.
We had a lovely family stay in this very well equipped house. The children enjoyed the pool and the adult children enjoyed the games room especially wonder boy from their youth. The views at the back were stunning as were the walks around the village A very large and comfortable house would recommend staying at This property.
We had a great time. The welcome hamper was lovely. Everyone enjoyed the pool and the games room. The property was very clean throughout. The kitchen is stocked well with crockery and glasses. It was a very comfortable property for our family group.
Excellent property in a quiet location convenient for lots of Dorset sightseeing. The swimming pool was wonderful and the maintenance man came regularly at the times advised so no trouble to check everything was ok. Nicely furnished and a well stocked kitchen. I have no hesitation recommending this property
Sandra
Beautiful, clean house, well equipped kitchen, great location, fantastic pool & games room, all 10 of us had a wonderful family holiday. Would highly recommend staying at this property!!!
We were a party of 6 adults and two children. We found the property modern clean and spacious. We enjoyed the hamper and milk awaiting us of our arrival. The pool was great, enjoyed by the children. The games room was excellent, everything worked fine and was in good condition. We were lucky with the weather and used the bbq in the back garden. We would come again and recommend.
The main bathroom light switch kept coming off in your hands, needs a new pull cord. We had to clean the BBQ before use, not an issue for us but just letting you know. We cleaned it after our usage.
Geraldine
Baytree Lodge is beautiful and the highlight for us was the indoor swimming pool, which is lovely and clean and maintained 3 times per week. The kids frequented it daily! We did expect one bedroom to have a king size bed with a single bed so unfortunately we had to take a mattress from the room with 3 single beds to accommodate 2 adults and a young child in a room. All rooms are exceptionally spacious, nicely decorated and bathrooms excellent. The showers were a delight with highly pressured water. The kitchen is superbly stocked with plenty of crockery and glasses etc. which suited us as we cooked a lot. I was disappointed with the cleaning utensils as the mops and brushes werent very clean. We did have a fantastic week and would highly recommend it, especially as we were a large family with adults of various ages and 4 children in total. Thank you so much for a fantastic week.
Sabrina
House is beautiful and big. A really lovely space could use more tea towels and dishwasher tablets as a house that sleeps 10 people should have amenities to match but this is a very minor inconvenience that wouldnt stop us booking again.
Its a lovely property. There were a couple of very minor things that need fixing but overall its a great place to stay. If I was suggesting one thing its that it would be good to have a rail to hep you get into and out of the pool. For older people it would be a real help
Carolyn
The house was lovely but there were a few things that could have been better. 1 Not providing any spare tiolet rolls I phoned and was advised that is all you get.. 2 No towel or soap in the downs stairs toilet .this is a hygeine matter luckely we were only a party of 9 so we could use one bedroom towel. 3 One tea towel for the week for ten people. these seem a bit mean for a 5 star house 4 The cleaniers have left dusty corners and floors around the stairs and banisters.
An amazing property in a lovely location. As others have said some more comfortable outdoor seating would enhance enjoying the weather outdoors. The kitchen is superbly equipped but would benefit from a small frying pan, it was only me that fancied a fried egg breakfast!
Shalin
Very spacious and comfortable property with great facilities. The swimming pool and games room came in handy on rainy days and there was a selection of DVDs and board games to keep the kids entertained. Dream Cottages were quick to respond when we had the occasional query as well so it was a positive experience all round. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone visiting the area.
We had a fabulous family stay at Baytree Lodge. On arrival we immediately felt welcome and there was a lovely bedroom for us all, each one with ensuite facilities. The welcome hamper on the kitchen island is such a lovely touch. We loved the pool and the games room. High standard of cleanliness throughout and we will definitely be back. Our only complaint is that we didnt want to leave!
Very enjoyable stay. The swimming pool was a big part of the children's holiday they loved it.
Booked a 3 night break at Baytree Lodge, a well presented property, very clean and everything you need for a short or long break, highly recommended on our behalf. Checked the property for booking next year, no surprise that it is fully booked, if you get chance to book it, do it quick. The only criticism and it is only a small one, is the size of the showers, looking at the detail put in for its rental value, they could be a little bigger, but thats just my opinion, apart from that, its a cracking property. I gave it 5 stars, but could easily be more..
A beautiful property. Well maintained
Wonderful property everything you would need for a family holiday. Swimming pool was a real bonus, games room great and location excellent. Easy bus ride to Weymouth and all Dorset attractions.
A fab weeks holiday for all 10 of us 6 adults, 4 kids No issues at all and no one wanted to leave. Hopefully we will return in August 2025 is there any way we can put a deposit down to secure this property for Aug 2025?
Baytree Lodge was an amazing property and our holiday was enjoyed by all. The indoor pool was superb and the location of the property was perfect for exploring the area. Would highly recommend this luxurious property.
Bay tree Lodge is the most amazing place to stay for family holidays. The facilities are fantastic and the kitchen has everything you will ever need. The pool was used everyday the children loved it. The bedrooms were most comfortable and fresh all with generous ensuite facilities. The youngest in our party was 1 and the eldest was 81. It was our 2nd time staying and hopefully many more. Thank you
Our second consecutive stay, we love this house and it makes for a great family holiday. With 4 grandchildren between 913 the pool is a real highlight and the bedroomsbathrooms make for easy living. The sink in the main bedroom en suite appears blocked and needs attention please.
