Beachaven Reviews

Beachaven is in a great position close to the the beach, shops and railway station. The host was very helpful prior to our stay, and the parking permits were very useful. It has plenty of room for a large family and a nice outdoor space. However, the house is in need of maintenance. For example, some of the showers were broken and mouldy, the nails of the carpet gripper on the landing carpet were exposed and dangerous, and there were nails sticking out of walls where pictures used to be. Also, the house needed a deep clean, and redecorating. It needs care and attention to be up to the standard we have previously known from Sykes Cottages.

The location of the property is good & the size suited our party . A welcome basket was provided which was appreciated. The property photographs on the listing do not truly reflect the current upkeep of the property. The property would benefit from a deep clean & maintenance of items that were broken or in a state of disrepair, i.e. missingbroken pictures, loose shelving, chipped tableware , poorly maintained bathrooms, the carpet on the first floor landing is dangerous as it is frayed torn in various places & needs a good clean. The bathrooms had broken shower doors & toilet seats , mould in the bathrooms needs to be addressed, again more maintenance & a deep clean is needed. Overall our impression of the property was that it was tired & had had its best day . We did not communicate these observations to our host as it was a short stay & nothing wouldve been resolved in our time there. Would we book the property again in its current state , no , nor would we recommend it to others . In our opinion the property rates are excessive based on the current representation of the property.

A lovely property for a big family. Great to have many of bathrooms and a super sized kitchen with lots of utensils etc. We loved the outside space. The house itself is in a quiet street but convenient for the beach and town.
