Beach Haven Reviews

Christine
Just a wonderful house. Beautiful views overlooking the sea in a very quiet and peaceful spot. With a restaurant opposite and a pub a short walk up the hill it is well catered for. The beach is great for relaxing if somewhat difficult to walk a great distance on, but plenty of coastal walking nearby. We had a family gathering and the house suited everyone young and old as well as the dogs. It had everything we needed and more with a well considered welcome pack. We will certainly recommend it to anyone and will hopefully return in the future.
We had a wonderful weeks stay over the New Year period. We were 4 adults, 3 kids and two dogs. It was very spacious, clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed for our stay. The house is located right on chesil beach perfect for family and dog walks. There is a restaurant right across the road thats very convenient. We had gorgeous sunsets and sunrises. It really felt like home away from home. We have booked to go back during February half term.
Couldn't fault the accommodation, everything was exactly as described, and the position on the beach opposite a cafe restaurant was fantastic. We will stay again for sure.
Very comfortable, warm house. Lots of space for families and nice touches for the children with books and toys. Would like to come back in the Summer and make use of the garden. Minor issues were sorted out quickly. Would have been nice to have had some kindling and firelighters so that we could have lit the logs provided
What a wonderful property! The property is comfortable, well maintained and in an excellent situation. The beach is only 100 metres away and with a PubRestaurant only 30 metres away, what more could you want?! It was relaxing and ideal for all our party, which included young children and a disabled adult. The towns of Weymouth and Bridport were within easy reach, together with other local attractions. Overall an excellent property and location.
The property was outstanding everything was a joy. ..the garden was lovely and great for our two dogs .The seaviews were breath taken ....we relaxed and was so chilled out we are still missing the fun and laughter .Lovely Restaurant opposite and Pubs nearby for great food....etc....which were dog friendly...We will and intend to book again with Sykescottages for our next holiday..Thank you .......
Beach Haven is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. The location was idyllic, bring able to see the sea from the garden and having the clubhouse opposite was amazing. We had everything we needed and even had table tennis outside. Perfect location for West Bay, Weymouth, Lyme Regis. Would recommend!
Christopher
Everything in the property is excellent, BUT, needs new iron, windows very dirty, mat in kitchen slips when you come in and out of garden , outside grass and ground area very uneven. These are details that should be addressed especially due to the price costing for 7days.
Amanda
We loved the house and the space was perfect for us as an extended family. The location was lovely and quiet but it was a shame that the beach wasnt accessible for us as we were unaware that it was mostly used for fishing and not safe for swimming.
I couldnt get the washing machine to work apart from that everything was perfect for escaping the rat race of life!
A lovely property, everything about the property made it homely and its in a lovely area.
My family and I stayed for the weekend, the accommodation was a very high standard. The location was unbelievable, and the views were amazing. The property was very spacious, clean and all that was needed was there for us, clean bedding and towels. The kitchen had everything that was required, a great time was had by all, and we will be booking again.

Beautiful Bungalow spacious with everything that you could need. Lovely sea views great garden. The only thing was the umbrella in the garden was broken and hadnt been replaced. The weather was sunny and hot so would have liked some me shade, but it didnt affect our week at Thrace Haven.
Such a lovely property, we absolutely loved the house and all the small touches that made it feel so welcoming and homely for the week. There could be a few more kitchen essentials such as a wooden spoon, sieve or some oil for cooking but generally very well stocked ! Thank you so much, would recommend to anyone!
I loved the peace and quiet of this coastal gem of a holiday home, we wanted a calm relaxed beach, which it was. ..watching the waves splash in and rush out through the pebbles...a wonderful sound... The house was clean and comfortable, no need for extras like washing up liquid or toilet rolls ect , all was there in the cupboards which is rare! My dogs loved the garden as they could run right around the property playing catch chase .. great fun for them, also beautiful weather all week, so lucky we brought the factor 50 as no shelter in the garden and the patio umberella was a bit old and rusty...shame as it was the only niggle we had in a glorious holiday week.
One first viewing it's very spacious and the views to the pebble beach is beautiful. The rooms are all a good size and lots of seating. We did find not having an airfryer was something not used to and oven grill took sometime to work and cook. The kids bedrooms needed more cleaning as mold is around one the bedroom windows and a large amount of dust and dirt next to beds in the back bedroom just needs a bit more time on cleaning and more toilet roll. The hamper was nice but unfortunately the bottle of juice was dirty and dated December 2024 so we left it. We found a large fishing hook on the beach with line which were glad our dogs didn't stand on guest need to be made aware of this as there's lots of fishing direct outside. The fish cafe opposite had alarm go off and load talking outside from workers in the morning We didn't visit as wasn't for children. It's a beautiful place but just needs a little longer cleaning as it's run by an agency so there's no direct contact details to anyone especially if you need assistance out of agency hours. The room upstairs has a beautiful view with window seat which is stunning but the double bed is very small and tiny bath which we found to small to use no shower upstairs. Floor in big room does have lots marks on it as they hold 400 on your account for damages but I want other guest to take note incase your accused of these. Would we stay again yes but probably bring airfryer and loo roll.
Beautiful accommodation next to the sea in west bexington . 8 people and 2 dogs having a lovely time in the perfect place . Everything in the house you would need . Bars and restaurants near by to if you need them .
First impression, Wow, this is amazing. Lasting impression, Wow, that was amazing.
Very nice house and well equipped kitchen, great location, modern and comfortable. Small niggle, dusty in some areas also check downstairs en suite extraction vent. Wed seen some reviews about limited loo rolltea towels dishwasher tablets being provided, but as its a self catering let, not a hotel, Id expect to take my own supplies in this respect anyway. Would we book again? definitely!
Anthony
The only thing lacking was spare toilet rolls!
Beach House is a delightful modern clean large and really well equipped property and the location is just the icing on the cake. All the little touches in respect of decoration are so well thought out and I cannot praise enough the equipment and the amount of crockery and cutlery etc supplied. We would definitely recommend a stay at this property.
We had the most amazing stay. Beach Haven is in a fabulous location and is a perfect base for exploring Dorset
Catherine
Beautiful home. Perfectly situated for exploring. Space for three cars is a bonus. Had everything we needed and more. Lovely welcome pack. Easy to find. All homely directions unobtrusive but clear and helpful. Would come back, highly recommended
Just excellent all round. Perfect for families sharing a holiday together.
Michelle
The house is stunning and has everything you need, in a fabulous location. We stayed here as attending a wedding at the Manor. Dont really get to enjoy the full experience as it was a busy weekend, but the Bride and Groom loved the house so much it may now become their Anniversary place annually.
Stephen
We really enjoyed our stay, the house was spacious, comfortable and very well equipped, we did feel the house was not that clean though, there were a lot of dog hairs and just generally needed a good clean from top to bottom, the location was very quiet and had to drive to everything apart from the Clubhouse opposite which we loved, overall a very good experience in a lovely house.
Great location for a quiet beach holiday, not commercialised yet not isolated. Very clean and generously equipped. Very spacious interior and apart from the bedroom and ensuite upstairs, all on one level with just a small step at the front door and out onto the terrace so great for those with mobility issues, We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you.
We loved our stay at Beach Haven and very soon put down roots. Everything we needed was there. We were blessed with perfect weather and spent many hours sitting in the garden listening to the sparrows chirping. Just one minor thing normally with a 2 week stay a change of bedding is supplied, otherwise all was perfect. We have booked for next year.Thank you
Jennie
Excellent spacious accommodation for our family of 6 adults and 2 children, with a safe garden for our dog. Beautiful sea views, quiet and peaceful and the pub over the road was never noisy the whole week we were there. Comfortable, homely furnishings. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. Tip only 3 loo rolls and 2 dishwasher tablets provided so bring more if you need them!
Rosalind
Beach Haven is a very pleasent bungalow with nice decor. I particularly liked the way the lounge had been arranged and the sofas and chairs were really comfortable not at all saggy as with some holiday rentals. All the information for operating the equipment cooker etc was neatly filed and the kitchen was modern and very well equiped. The garden had lovely sea views with good quality garden furniture even cushions for the chairs were provided. The beds in the two main bedrooms were very comfortable and these rooms were light and airy, however I thought the twin bedroom was the poor relation. Although the mattresses were good quality the wooden frames rather creaked. The dark old fashioned furniture seemed out of keeping with the other bedrooms and made the room seem a bit cramped just my opinion of course. Although we didn't use the children's room it looked very bright and cheery and the bunk beds looked very sturdy. The restaurant opposite was fantastic and we ate there several times. Unfortunately the beach wasn't really suitable for us we are all retired as the shingle was quite diificult to walk along. It is very popular with anglers and as such we were warned by the locals to be careful with our dog of discarded fish hooks and also that there are adders about where the shingle meets the grass etc. so again be wary if you have a walk with your dog. To sum up overall we thought the owners had made a real effort to offer well thought out comfortable accomodation.
Andrew
After searching for a cottage that would sleep 7 adults, 1 toddler and 2 dogs I found this beautiful cottage. As soon as we stepped through the front door I knew we would all have a lovely time. It was as described, big, well presented, spacious for all the family. A large secure garden where the dogs ran and explored with no concerns of escaping. We never felt on top of each other. The local pub was an added bonus that serves delicious local food. We all had a lovely time making special memories for all the family. We cant wait to return again soon.
Absolutely lovely place to stay took my parents in laws for a little break and ... Absolutely lovely place to stay took my parents in laws for a little break and they loved it went out most days along the coast visiting some amazing places peaceful place to stay, looking at the ocean every day was amazing the views outstanding beauty definitely coming back
Rachel
We enjoyed our stay at Beach Haven which had plenty of space and was beautifully decorated. Our fav room was the cosy coastal theme living room with log fire and 3 sofas enabling 2 groups of people to enjoy the space without feeling on top of each other! The ensuites were of a high standard though anyone using the loft bedroomensuite may find the bath up there a bit small to wash in. The welcome basket was appreciated and while our 2 children are grown up, the childrens books and toy bag in the bunk room is a nice touch! Our only observation would be to add some more kitchen utensils 1 wooden spoon and 1 peeler isnt sufficient and a lemon zest juicer at the very least though an electric juicer or some kind of blender would be even better. The sea is very rough so we kept our dog on the lead at all times though there are beaches further afield that are not as treacherous.
Excellent accommodation, superb location, very comfortable, wonderful views, quality furnishings and finishings wanted to stay another week. Only small thing would be to put a dressing table with mirror in rooms and a shelf in the showers to put toiletries on when washing. Everything else just perfect! Will definitely return best accommodation ever rented, welcome pack a lovely addition thank you x
We had a lovely time one, of the best places we have rented. Everything you need is there and had great fun with the table tennis
Beautiful location, well equiped property, secure and well kept garden for the dogs, thank you. A couple of minor issues identified, that didn't spoil our holiday 1. New TV remote handset required in the lounge, many of the symbols couldn't be read, very frustrating but worked it out eventually! 2. Torch in the main downstairs bedroom a thoughful touch, not working ? new batteries. 3. Cleaners need to clean underneath beds, sofas etc. 4. Bed linen poor quality for a 4 accommodation, there was a hole in the duvet cover in the main downstairs bedroom. My feed back is based on having 3 UK holidays a year, over many years and feel able to make a comparison. 5. Electrics in kitchen, kettle didn't work with the microwave on at the same time. Addressing the issues would make this lovely property into a fabulous one.
A beautiful bungalow, well equipped throughout, comfortable beds and comfortable furniture in the lounge too. All the appliances in the kitchen were of high standards I particularly liked the induction hob, it was my first time using one and I was very impressed. We had a sea view and Beach Haven is in a very quiet location perfect for us and our family and our dogs.
Catherine
Beach Haven is a beautiful, spacious house to stay in with fabulous views . The kitchen table was a great place to have family meals and play games. The kitchen was well stocked with crockery and utensils. We loved the garden, it is well maintained and perfect for children and dogs to play safely. We were a little disappointed by the beach which was too pebbly to easily walk on, or for dogs to run on with our getting sore paws. We were surprised that there were no recycling facilities at the house or nearby and we were limited on car space to take it home with us. The property is a little noisy due to no curtains only blinds and no rugs so the early risers woke us all up! But it is such a lovely house and location we would recommend it to others
Beach Haven was excellent, very comfortable, a great location and plenty of room with our kids and grandkids. Also highly recommend the Club House opposite Beach Haven. Excellent food and great cocktails. Good offers on Friday and Sunday for food and for cocktails on Friday & Saturday2for1 Happy Hour 56pm. Great breakfast on our last day. httpswww.theclubhousewestbexington.co.uk
