Glyde House Reviews

Jackie
Glyde house was wonderful, exactly as described and so much more. The owners David and Gail were very responsive to any questions we had. The welcome pack was a very nice touch. Such a beautiful house perfectly situated, 5 minute walk to the centre of Dorchester yet secluded and surrounded by countryside. I can highly recommend this fantastic home.
David Oliver
Very clean large house on a quiet road, good for the town and river. Lovely downstairs bedroom. The bed downstairs is high and awkward to get on and off for my sister who is disabled. Everything else perfect thank you so much for sharing your home. Thanks very much Gail & David from South Wales.
Elizabeth

For the six of us 3 couples Glyde House was the perfect holiday home. It was comfortable, well maintained, and the owners were attentive. It is very well placed, a block away from Dorchester centre yet in a quiet street. The good weather enabled us to enjoy the garden more than we had anticipated for the beginning of October. All in all, excellent value.

Glyde House is a beautiful and spacious house and ideally situated for eating out, places to visit locally and for easily travelling further afield on day trips. The house itself is very well presented and the kitchen is very well equipped should you wish to stay in cook a meal for a large family. Upon arriving, we were greeted with a welcome pack including tea, coffee, sugar and some lovely biscuits, as well as a smaller pack with washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets. Everything you need to start your stay comfortably. The garden is also beautifully paid out and securely enclosed should you take your dogs on holiday with you. If you are unsure of anything, Dave and Gail are on hand via email to answer any questions, and respond very quickly too. It was so lovely we mean to visit again next year. It's a 1010 for me. Thanks
A lovely spacious house that provided the whole family with a great holiday base. Plenty of room for the grandchildren to run around, both inside and out. The welcome hamper was a nice touch to. The owners were very quick to answer a query that I had, which was really helpful. Would definitely book again!
Lovely property with all that is needed. Well equipped kitchen with plenty of utensils and space! Sofa maybe a little dated and soft to sit on, but its a holiday let so that's understandable. Overall nothing to complain about and will certainly look to book again. We really had a lovely time and it was spotless with everything working as it should. Lovely hamper to arrive to and lovely to see some cleaning products supplied also which was a lovely touch. Great for dogs to run around in and secure, unless you have a small dog that would squeeze under or through a gate. Ours enjoyed. A fabulous outdoor area to sit in. We met owner on arrival and was so welcoming. Perfect location for us. Highly recommend if you have family of all ages and looking for a home that feels like a home. Would certainly book this property again.
We had a wonderful week in the house which is very well located near the shops, park, cafes and museum. The large garden is not overlooked and safe for children. The outdoor space was perfect. The house is large, comfortable and well equipped with everything you need. Fully recommend Glyde House for a great family holiday.
Was a lovely clean well provisioned house with plenty of room for all of us, the separate bedroom with it's own bathroom, shower and decking access on the ground floor was fantastic for my mother in law. We especially enjoyed the sunny weather on the decking, and our children and dogs loved the large enclosed garden. We could easily walk to the town and there were several lovely walk for our dog within a few minutes of the house.
Absolutely beautiful property in spotless condition on arrival. Everything provided. Surprised by the lovely welcome hamper. Would be very happy to come again. Just a little note as owners may not be aware! Shower height adjustment bracket in downstairs ensuite is broken can only be used at lowest height. Also steps from balcony into the garden pond area the railing is loose!! Thank you for a perfect stay to attend a family wedding locally.
Lovely clean well equipped property. Beds very comfortable and bedding great quality. Great location to walk to Dorchester.

Wonderful views out to the countryside at rear of house . Lovely enclosed garden for your dog to run around in . Easy 2 min walk and your out on a lovely riverside walk . A beautiful property with lovely gardens. As a family of 5 adults and a dog we really enjoyed our stay at Glyde House and appreciated the excellent facilities.
Glyde house is in a brilliant location, with lots of attractions and amenities close by. The house itself is huge and very comfortable, with everything needed for a big family and a big, clean garden, with lots of lovely plants to investigate. We did not find a spot of dust anywhere within the house. My family and I would gladly stay again, thanks David and Gail for a lovely stay.
Lovely property, lots of kitchen utensils, comfortable beds and lovely garden.
Louise
We had a lovely relaxed week at Glyde house. Everything we needed was provided, thank you
Loverly property and surrounding grounds. Well furnished and the grounds are maintained to a great standard. The location is excellent as well, just a short walk into town but remains secluded and private, despite its close proximity to the town.
We had a lovely stay in the cottage, very spacious and well equipped. Perfect location for the beautiful surrounding areas and popping to the little high street. Lovely views from the back of the cottage and walks around. Would highly recommend and definitely return
