Leys At Valley View Farm Reviews

Beautiful barn conversion which was very well furnished and equipped. It was very clean and spacious for our family of 6 adults and a baby. A very nice welcome pack including local milk, eggs, chutney and cookies were very much appreciated. Jill was very friendly and always available for any queries. We were very fortunate with the weather and did many walks to Uplyme and Lyme Regis. Would highly recommend the property.
Sandra
Leys is a lovely place for a family holiday. The property is spacious and had everything we needed. We particularly enjoyed walking from Uplyme to Lyme Regis along the river valley.
Leys at Valley view farm is very well equipped, comfortable property, enjoyed by all the ladies of the group. Great area to explore all that Dorset has to offer especially the Marine Theatre in Lyme Regis we attended 2 great shows during the week. Would recommend this property
Lorraine
Sorry we didnt complete the guest book we ran out of time. We were a family of three generations and had the most amazing stay. Jill was lovely and checked that all was good for us. We loved the barn and we have never stayed anywhere where everything is thought of. Our grandchildren loved the boule out the front and feeding flossie and flo everyday. I would totally recommend this quiet comfortable barn and location is great for visiting Jurassic coast.
The property was comfortable and ideal for our family with 4 bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms. The only slight disadvantage was its position at the top of a steep hill. The outside seating area was fine in the morning sun but not in the evening. However our host Jill was very welcoming. We also enjoyed the pottery session with Lauren. All in all it was a very successful holiday.
Jacqueline
A beautiful barn conversion both inside and out. All rooms were exceptionally clean and had all home comforts needed for a great holiday. The owner, Jill was very welcoming. A superb holiday.
Valerie
Christmas with the family at Leys was very enjoyable and comfortable. Good location with an easy walk to Lyme . A lovely welcome pack on arrival.
Barn exceeded our expectations. Very comfortable, spacious and well equipped. The pizza oven was a good experience. Great to have ensuite attached to each bed room. Wonderful walk from barn down into Lyme Regis. Well placed for exploring the area. Very friendly owner. Would definitely recommend.
Sandra
Had a lovely stay at valley view farm, accommodation is spotless and rooms are a great size with the added benefit of a ensuite for each bedroom. Lovely and peaceful but with easy access to a local shop and lyme regis. Owner on hand if needed. Thanks for the food for the sheep they were very enthusiastic to be fed. Age range staying was from 1 81 and we all had a great time
The Leys Valley View Farm has everything that one could wish for. The barn convertion has been beautifully done. The dwelling is comfortable, clean and very spacious. The views of the countryside are gorgeous. We were blessed with very nice weather too. The walk from the farm to Lyme Regis along the river Lym is not to be missed. It was lovely to find a basket of welcoming goodies too. All the family loved their time there. One very slight drawback was not being able to arrive before 5.00 pm. I would have preferred 4.00 pm. It was a delightful holiday for which our whole family are grateful.
We had a lovely stay at Leys and even though the weather was a little unkind we found plenty to do in the general area. Jill was a very hospitable and attentive host and nothing was too much trouble for her. Our grandchildren just loved Flossie & Flo the sheep and Jill was kind enough to give the girls plenty of feed for them. We shall definitely look at returning before too long.

A beautiful barn conversion with excellent facilities and many thoughtful extras in a lovely rural location. The owner was very informative and helpful with any queries we raised and a problem with the lighting in the kitchenliving area was eventually resolved during our stay. As mentioned in a previous review, the listing should probably make it clearer that the upstairs is actually a mezzanine without a ceiling which means that the light and sound from the downstairs living area travels to the upstairs bedroom. It wasnt a problem for our group as we all went to bed at about the same time but it might not suit everyone. We were a group of seven adults and we thoroughly enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing holiday together in delightful surroundings with so much to see and explore in the local area. Would definitely recommend.
Jill was extremely warm and friendly aiming to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The barn is is situated in a stunning location and we could not have asked for a more restful holiday.
Catherine
This is really stunning and very well equipped property in beautiful surroundings. Jill, the owner, has paid great care and attention to ensuring that all you could hope for is provided and is a warm and welcoming host. We will certainly go back.
Rebecca
Our week at Leys was wonderful, the barn is gorgeous, very clean and extremely well equipped. If the weather had been better we would have ventured even further on the nature trails around but the surrounds are gorgeous and the kids loved seeing the various animals. Jill was extremely friendly and helpful, we will be back!
Great property with a fantastic inside, pity about steep ramp from road next to steps for anybody disabled or in a wheelchair the ramp is extremely steep but the inside of the property makes a spectacular surprise, also the owner of the property is a delight and so helpful. A sign on the gate would had helped us finding the property the first time which was at night down a unlight road.
William
A lovely week spent in this property. Jill made us welcome and was available for any query. It was very clean and comfortable, nice beds, hot showers. An exhilarating walk into Lyme Regis via the Lym river walk paths. Would definitely return.
Leys at Valley View Farm is an exceptional property. Immaculately maintained with beautifully planted rockeries outside, it provided a lovely base for visiting Dorset and Devon. The owner, Jill, looked after us very well, without being intrusive. She also provided a generous welcome pack which was waiting for us when we arrived. Uplyme has a good pub The Talbot and an excellent tea shop The Black Dog which offered delicious cream teas. Apart from the mixed weather, the property and its location made for a lovely holiday.
Great place to stay. Lots to do on site
A shame dishwasher was not working until the Thursday , spent a long time at the sink especially with 8 adults and 2 babies to was up for .
A brilliant setting and super house. Host, Jill was super helpful . Facilities were super and the grandchildren had plenty to occupy them.
Bronwyn
A stunning property which richly deserves its 5 rating. The owner, Jill, was welcoming, approachable and very helpful. The property is on the site of a working stock farm, with cattle sheds proximate to it, and the occasional whiff from these was quite strong. This did not trouble us and we found the gentle lowing of the cows rather soothing! Others may have different views though so perhaps mention the barns proximity to farm buildings?
We booked The Leys for a family holiday hoping that all 7 of us could be together for the first time in ages. Sadly, because of Covid restrictions, our adult children had to visit at different times but we still made the most of all that the property had to offer and had a wonderful time. The Leys is ideal for this type of gathering as each bedroom has its own ensuite and the living area is big and airy, with plenty of space to socially distance. There is also a separate snug for anyone wanting some time to themselves. The standard of the decor and furnishings is very high, tasteful and comfortable. Much thought has been put into providing lots of activities on site for those days when you don't want to go out and for children especially both indoors and outdoors. We loved our stay here and found the owner, Jill very helpful and welcoming. Her artwork is displayed on the barn walls and other products are also available to purchase as a souvenir of your stay. One point that should be high lighted is that the upstairs bedroom is in fact on a mezzanine level, it has walls but no ceiling and so is open to any noise coming from the living area. Having said that, it is big and includes its own settee and TV, as well as access to its own bathroom, which includes a large bath very comfy indeed! I would and will recommend this property to anyone looking for a large family retreat in the Dorset countryside. Thank you Jill for allowing us to stay at The Leys and for all you have provided.
Leys is beautifully equipped and luxurious barn conversion. It was wonderful to have accommodation of a downstairs bedroom with a wet room for my father as well as ensuite bedrooms for the rest of the family. It meant we could all be ready to leave in good time to enjoy the local sites, with Lyme Regis and Charmouth our particular favourites.
We were a party of 8 adults. Really enjoyed our stay at the Leys, a very good barn conversion very comfortable beds. Lovely and clean through out, everything you could possibly need for a good stay. Some of the group made use of the sportsgame facilities. Also a good walking area. A welcome pack on arrival was a nice touch.
Robert
Just returned home from a weeks stay at this amazing property. It was a family holiday with 6 adults and two small children and we have had a wonderful time. The property and amenities exceeded our expectations. The barn was clean, well equipped with plenty of space for us all and Jill the owner is a lovely lady. We would certainly recommend it.
Really great place in very good condition.
Excellent property, great for a family multigenerational.
A very nicely presented holiday home that made everyone feel comfortable. Thank you....!!! Stayed August 2017.
The accommodation was of a very high standard and extremely well equipped. The setting was delightful, enjoyed by us all particularly our grandaughter who loved the farm animals. There was a variety of sports equipment available for use and we enjoyed a local pottery workshop. Jill, the owner was lovely friendly and very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will recommend to friends and colleagues. Stayed May 2017
Amazing, will definitely recommend to others, Jill was lovely and accommodating. Stayed April 2017

A lovely property, well maintained giving a good impression as soon as you step through the door. All the essentials for a comfortable stay comfy beds and good showers! We hope to stay again. Stayed December 2015
This place is fantastic thank you so much for arranging it for us. It was so comfortable and warm wow what a great space. We enjoyed walking into Lyme along the river and getting the bus back, dining out at Hugh FW's place in Axminster, having a ramble about on the beach at Beer and poking into the lovely little shops in Lyme. The open kitchen was perfect for sociable food preparation and eating and the games room was great for 4 teenage girls. Perfect place for my celebration weekend. Lucy. Stayed November 2015
A great deal of thought had gone into both the inside and outside of this property. Our 3 grandchildren had a great time and the youngest befriended the farm dog. Would recommend to anyone. Stayed July 2015
The property was everything you could wish for. Very clean, lots of space, well equipped. The games outside and in the outside barn was a lovely and unusual addition. The owner of the property was extremely friendly and very nice.
After reading the positive reviews for Leys our expectations were high. We were not disappointed. Leys is a very attractive barn conversion in a beautiful location. It is fitted out to the highest standard. A comfortable stay for four couples stayed April 2015.
