This was the third year that we have stayed in Mermaid House as an extended three generation family group and we're planning to go back. The location is great, close to the beach, shops and car park. The bedrooms are comfortable and there's room for us all to spread out. The children now treat it like home!

The house was very nice, with a great location. The only criticism was that on arrival most of the trays in the over were dirty, they had oil in them. There are also a number of lights not working.

The property had everything we needed & was ideally located for our purposes. We loved that it had multiple items of crockery rather than simply 10 of each. I would have liked to have awarded our experience 5 stars but for a dirty tissue was found on a shelf in a wardrobe & a mug with its contents now mouldy put away in a kitchen cupboard. We fought over who was going to have the window seat each evening some cushion inners were lack lustre, lumpy & flat. However none of the above would put us off visiting The Mermaid House again. The issue we had with the back door key was dealt with very promptly. Thank you.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mermaid House. It had all the amenities we needed and felt very spacious and we loved the big kitchen downstairs but also with cosy sitting room on 2nd floor. Lots of bathrooms which was great. Location was amazing, very central and opposite a lovely pub. Would definitely come back!

Superb as ever, think it's our 6th time here. New heating controls excellent, redecoration of 2023 holding up well. Few minor details. Handle of top floor back bedroom was broken last year, it still is. The plates are the original ones, there are only 9 and two are cracked, please replace. One reason we come is because we can properly cook and serve 11 meals regularly so this is important. Would it be possible to have a change of bedlinen. We don't mind changing the beds but fresh sheets after a week would be nice. Finally the bin men dropped off a brand new food waste caddy when they emptied the bin but there were no instructions so we didn't use it. Could you find out and amend the printed instructions inside the house. Overall, as good as ever.

Mermaid house is a great place to stay with a large family. There were 7 adults 3 children & an infant in our party & we had plenty of space & facilities to accommodate us all. The house was also in a great situation in the town with easy access to the beach, shops, cafes, a lovely childrens park & the parking in the nearby car park worked well. We all had a lovely holiday in Lyme Regis thank you.

Absolutely fantastic accommodation, the cleanliness was the best we have ever experienced in 25 years of staying in Lyme Regis rentals. Very well maintained & will be booking again in the future.

Enjoyed our stay thanks. Some observations to help. 1 hot water comes out as boiling in sinks and bit dangerous for families. 2 the letter box was loose, toddler managed to take it off from the inside! 3 not enough tea towels for a large family. 4 electric fans very rattly in the bedroom especially at night. Had a lovely time and enjoyed our time staying there, great central location and very comfortable.

This is a large, comfortable house. The kitchen is well equipped, with large cooking dishes, lots of crockery, cutlery and a double oven. We were able to cook a Christmas lunch for 6, and the dining room is fabulous for family dinners. The only negatives I have is the location, which is on a surprisingly busy side street, and its proximity to the Ship Inn. The pub is popular and smokers stand outside until pub closing time. It also has live music on some nights.

Lovely house, well equipped and very homely. In a great location with easy access to all of Lyme Regis.

As ever we had a wonderful time. We always appreciate the well equipped kitchen. The rooms are comfortable and have everything needed. The location is superb be warned you won't bother getting your car once it is in the carpark and you will be fit by the end of your stay!

We loved the location and the house was wellequipped and had a good layout for our family gathering. My only criticism is that the trellising on the top garden is very flimsy and our children wanted to walk along the wall, as children do. Of course, we stopped them from doing that, but it would be better to have a safe barrier on a high wall in a family house. We are definitely intending to book again!

Description not totally accurate. The Ground floor bedroom was described as having an 'En Suite' which if did not. You had to exit that Bedroom to get ot the 'En Suite' which became used by other members of out party as a general bathroom. No lock on the door. House was lovely and clean and was located very close to all the amenities.

Fantastic house in central Lyme Regis easily the best equipped and appointed holiday rental we have ever had with comfy beds four great bathrooms and every piece of kitchen equipment you could possibly need. Very close to all the lovely restaurants in Lyme and would highly recommend the Harbour inn, Town bakery and Millside all of which had fab food and great friendly service. We loved Mermaid house and will definitely be back!

As ever a wonderful stay. The redecoration and new oven have really brought Mermaid House back to 5 stars. Excellent response from maintenance when the smoke alarm failed, deafening us and the town when it wouldn't stop going off. Perfect for a large family gathering

Dear Lyme Bay, I just wanted to report the following re our property Mermaid House. 1. The door handle on the upstairs rear bedroom is very loose and kept coming off. 2. The fridge freezer was faulty and kept spontaneously defrosting then refrosting. 3. The WiFi did not work properly. 4. The boiler kept breaking down but this was eventually fixed by one of your plumbers. It is a shame that this property let us down in so many ways, at 3,000 for a week you would expect everything to be in good working order. We are very longstanding customers but will now think twice before booking again with Lyme Bay Holidays. Regards, George Scott

Excellent house that was very clean and well equipped and in a brilliant location. Everything we needed for a lovely weekend break for an adult group. Couple of things to note for the owner A couple of the lightbulbs did not work and the shower in the very top bathroom kept going hot and cold

Lyme Bay staff excellent as always. Mermaid house in good condition, recent painting obvious. As ever location is the strongpoint. Problem with central heating boiler it won't stop! Plenty of hot water and heating not needed but boiler ran continuously, noisy in groung floor bedroom. Only way to stop it was to turn it off at the boiler itself. I think it needs the contols resetting but no instructions so we didn't touch it.
