Millmead House, Weymouth

I have mixed thoughts about this accommodation. Positives The property itself was lovely looking, sturdy and well situated. The stream at the end of garden is a unique highlight in which the dog and family loved sitting round and playing in. The garden areas are generally lovely and a good size. The local area was pretty, with good pubs, shingle beaches and a nice local farm shop. Lots of path or riding walkways are all along the area we enjoyed exploring local and historic landmarks. Having two rentals attached to each other the annex is a separate booking together did not cause us any issues and would be great if you were a larger party who needed a separate space. Negatives The property says it has a downstairs bedroom this is not strictly true. We had a disabled person with us and that individual could not use the downstairs room as had a small day bed in it and lacked any amenities to make it a functionable downstairs bedroom. They had to take an upstairs bedroom and had to climb the stairs everyday. The kitchen cleanliness was questionable, we had to wash out the fridge, freezer and cups, cutlery and pans as some were left where left with old food in them. However, the bedrooms, bedding and upstairs were well presented. We all agreed more time should be given to clean this property on customer arrival days as its large. The property lacks some basic amenities it needs a tumble dryer or a suitably well placed washing line we had constant wet clothing from the beach or just washing our clothes and a drying rail is not enough. We also found no hairdryer so we had to go and purchase our own. A lack of light in the garden means you cannot use the space much in the evening. Some lighting to help families sit outside longer would be advantageous. The shed has wired lights but we could not access any of them. Overall, we felt the property was good it just needs some extra amenities, maintenance and some TLC that would make it an excellent stay.
