The White House, Bridport

It was an ideal house for 10 old friends to get together. Beds very comfortable and everything we needed was available. The only thing I would say is that the parking instructions were not clear. We had 5 cars as we were coming from different directions. By the garage there was information regarding the garage for 1 car and 2 spaces although 2 of us had small cars and could have got 2 cars in the garage.When we got inside the house there was a big notice saying parking for 4 cars!! We did actually park one car away from the house on a side road and one behind the two spaces behind the garage and we were not blocking anyone. A neighbour came and said we could only park 3 cars so we immediately moved another to a side road. But different instructions. I did inadvertently bring a dish home with me that belonged to the house and have been asked to post it back! It would end up in little pieces would I do that. I have offered to send money for it to be replaced but have not had a reply to that offer. A lovely few days and will certainly look to book that house again. A bonus to have 5 ensuites and an enclosed garden.

The White House offered us all we needed for a fantastic multigeneration celebration for my 70th Birthday. We have never stayed somewhere with so much kitchen and dining equipment superb selection, even down to cutlery for our little people! We made good use of the garden and conservatory, thanks to the lovely sunshine the week we stayed. Thoroughly recommend this accommodation. Thank you.

The property and equipment was exactly as described and seemed to be very new. Only five of us so plenty of room, even with a full house it would still be roomy. Situation was perfect, easy walk to West Bay and Bridport.

Once we had negotiated the route to the back of the property to park our cars everything went smoothly. The house was just as expected. Clean warm and very welcoming. There was plenty of room for our big party to eat drink and relax. The bedrooms were spacious and cosy. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this house to anyone.

The White House is an excellent venue for a stay in Bridport or West Bay. Its clean, comfortable, warm and well positioned for walking into Bridport or West Bay. The car parking is very convenient and the house is packed with utensils and games. The other really good aspect is that the beds are supremely comfortable. I would be very happy to stay again and recommend it very highly.

Probably the best equipped kitchen we've ever had we always selfcater & various things are often missing. Also there was a very useful tool box if needed. Compliments also to the owners agent who provided a spare key within 12 hr after we managed to lock ourselves out.

We thought the property was perfect. Really liked that there was plenty of crockery and glassware . Plenty big enough for the 9 of us . We only stayed 2 nights for a wedding but would love to stay longer to enjoy the house and surrounding area

Another lovely stay at The White House. Ideal for touring Dorset. Plenty of parking at the rear of the property also a lovely walled garden safe for children and dogs. Its so nice to have your own ensuite bedroom. I would definitely recommend this property especially for larger gatherings.

What a place! Five double ensuite bathrooms. A walled garden with plenty of garden furniture. A kitchen to be envious of with everything you could possibly need to prepare a banquet! A dining table in the sunny conservatory to seat 10 people. Parking for up to 4 cars only 2 SMALL ones in the garage. Allinall, a VERY comfortable holiday home which was spotlessly clean on arrival. The house is about 5 minutes from West Bay Harbour by car and about 8 minutes into the town of Bridport very busy on market days. The local supermarket Morrisons is about 5 minutes away by car. Six of us had a very pleasant stay in this house and would happily stay there again. Plenty of places to visit in the area.

The property is in an excellent position close to Bridport and West Bay. However the road can be noisy at times. There was a very nice welcome pack which was much appreciated. The beds were very comfortable. When we returned from our days out we spent all our time in the conservatory which was warm. However more comfortable seating would be nice. The main problem is with the plumbing. The toilets are very noisy and make noises randomly. We all struggled with the showers in getting hot water to come through.

Very well equipped and clean, we enjoyed our stay. It is on a busy road so some bedrooms are on the noisy side. Car parking wasn't easy, quite tight and unsuitable for large cars which I don't have btw but still struggled. Sykes very difficult to contact would avoid them

Highly recommend. The White House was perfect for our needs as a group of 5 old friends. The house was lovely and clean and well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. All the bedrooms being ensuite was also great. We loved the outside area which was great for enjoying evening sun and having drinks outside. The plumbing is quite noisy, as others have mentioned, but not a deal breaker. Off road parking was more than adequate. The house is perfectly situated between Bridport and West Bay and an easy walk to both. Fabulous dining in both highly recommend Rise and Platform in West Bay and Dorshi in Bridport, and the walking and scenery from West Bay is truly spectacular. And the icing on the cake was that one of the party lost an earring at the house which was found by Fran, the lovely lady who keeps the house so spotless, and she very kindly posted it on. Would happily return to the White House.

An excellent house with ample space for 10 adults. Beds were comfy and a great bonus to have ensuite for every room. Garden was perfect for sitting in the evening sun. Kitchen was a good size and well stocked with cooking equipment. Plus a great location with 1015 minute walk to the beach at west bay and a supermarket 10 minute walk away in bridport.

The White House is a beautiful characterful house, we had a wonderful stay, all of us were very relaxed and enjoyed the surroundings. The beds and pillows were comfy, all the rooms were very spacious. Every room was absolutely spotlessly clean. The kitchen was packed with everything you would ever want. The garden was a piece of heaven on a sunny day, listening to the birds and relaxing. Parking was brilliant.

We had a lovely break with friends. Perfect house for a large group, excellently equipped with everything you need. And a great location for the beach and getting around Dorset. Thank you so much.

Out third stay at the White House and ideal for large groups. Every thing in the house that one would require on a holiday.

The property is superb, ideal for us as we were 4 couples. The rooms all have an ensuite which suited us all. The kitchen is really well stocked which was brilliant, there was everything you needed. We had a welcome gift bag stocked with goodies which was a lovely gesture. The house is a lovely open plan which suited us for my birthday weekend as we were able to all sit in the lounge. The location is great, just a short walk to west bay beach. The only issue we had was that we had no hot water at all on the Friday and despite phoning the emergency numbers provided, we had no response at all. This would have really impacted the weekend if we had not personally known a plumber who helped us fix the boiler over the phone. I would suggest that these issues should be checked before guests arrive to ensure everything is fully working. Overall our stay was excellent and I would recommend booking The White House.

The oven was very slow to cook Our Sunday dinner was delayed by nearly 2 hours waiting for the meat to roast

Beautiful house and excellent location

The property was so lovely, the entire group agreed that the photographs didn't do it justice and it was much nicer in person than in the photos. Each bedroom having an en suite was a perfect touch and the kitchen was very well equipped. We made lots of large meals for a group of 9 adults each day and we were never short of anything in the kitchen. The welcome bag with goodies was a lovely touch and we appreciated the milk being left too! Though we did bring our own so that's the only reason we didn't use much. It was unseasonably warm the weekend we stayed and there were only 2 fans in the house so the only feedback some people in the group said was that possibly a fan available in each room for night time as it was very warm and difficult to sleep at times due to the temperature in the rooms, especially on the top floor. However with this said, the beds themselves and notably the pillows were extremely comfortable never had such comfortable pillows so the bedrooms were very well received. The garden and communal rooms were all lovely and we loved our weekend stay.

White House was very well equipped. My only criticism was the lack of parking. Evenso I would still book again.

Lovely property in a great location. Toilet system quite noisy and the welcome pack was a nice touch. Under sofas could have had a hoover but everything else was lovely and would stay again.

Excellent facilities in a well equipped house. Everything was clean and tidy. Very good position to walk into town or down to beach. Parking behind house was easy. The only slight downside was the toilets in some of the en suites which have a noisy composter type mechanism which could go off in the middle of the night!

I organised an extended family gathering at the White House in West Bay, we were all delighted with the property, which was perfect for our needs. The property is well located, has ample offstreet parking and is very comfortable and well appointed. The 'suite' of social spaces on the ground floor sitting room, kitchen, dining room work really well in ensuring an inclusive atmosphere. The kitchen is really well equipped and acts as a great hub within the social space. The bedrooms and the beds are all equally comfortable and the garden also provides a great social space if the weather is good. In short, I cannot fault the White House and would certainly book it again for a similar occasion.

Comfortable and spacious accommodation. Kitchen well equipped. Good location for local amenities and different leisure activities.Any maintenance was dealt with efficiently. Good customer service.

Really love staying at the White House and holidaying with Lyme Bay holidays . There was only a couple of minor things 1 The ensuite door in the bedroom at the top of the stairs doesnt shut properly . 2 For health and safety it would be helpful to have keys at the front door and the back door .

A fabulous house, spacious, light, great sundining room, useful laundry, good showers, clean, very well equipped throughout and a great location being able to walk into West Bay, plus the pub and the Spa near by. It was perfect for our group of friendsfamily! Our only suggestion was that it needs a new toaster, current one old and does not work properly lots of burnt toast!.And it would have been lovely to have had a bbq although we appreciate cleaning them is quite a chore!

Large and spacious with everything needed for a great holiday.

What a brilliant space each bedroom ensuite which enabled our multi generational family to have some privacy, comfortable beds and plentiful pillows. Fabulous kitchen with everything we needed to cook meals and a great dishwasher, the utility room has a washer and dryer which we used a couple of times. The dining space with large table and chairs plus two armchairs is light and airy and we spent most of our time in here in the evenings playing Cluedo and cards . which we loved !! The lounge area has lots of leather seating where we watched a couple of films . It only has a tiny window so a bit dark during the day but fine at night . Outside is a large and lovely garden with furniture which we made use of on warm evenings and our dog had open access as its secure which he loved. Parking was easy and we never encountered another car on the lane for the two weeks so no reversing required. I think some new bigger towels would enhance the bedrooms but they were perfectly serviceable. The house is equidistant from Bridport and West Bay about a 20 minute walk in either direction lots of independent shops in town a great market and cafes to choose from , everywhere is dog friendly. West Bay has the charm of an old fashioned sea side with the addition of some dramatic rocks this is the Jurassic coast after all ! There are some great little restaurants we particularly liked Rachels mussels and fish and chips great food & service. There is a Morrisons and a Lidl within a few minutes. Our hosts left us a welcome pack full of local treats, tea, coffee, biscuits, milk in the fridge which was appreciated after our long drive down from Lancashire . We had a great holiday in the White House .

This is a perfect house for a family group. We were 7 adults and a baby. We did need to provide our own travel cot but this was not a problem. The conservatory eating area is ideal and faces the setting sun. The garden is sheltered and safely enclosed by a lovely old wall. Perfect for dogs and children with a suntrap one end for early morning sun and a terrace with a swing hammock at the other end next to the house for an evening meal. We had one plumbing emergency that was dealt with rapidly and efficiently by Lyme Bay Holidays and we were able to carry on unaffected so full marks to the holiday company. The only downside is that the road in front of the property is noisy and narrow. It takes about 20 minutes to walk along the narrow pavement to reach West Bay which has lots of restaurants, pubs and cafes. Likewise there is a 10 minute walk beside noisy traffic before reaching the outskirts of Bridport. This is a lovely Georgian town, full of interesting eclectic pubs, shops and eateries. I'd be very happy to return.

Lovely and extremely spacious holiday let that easily catered for our party of 7 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs to ensure we werent under each others feet. Perfect travelling directions and unlocking instructions. Despite a couple of plumbing issues that were promptly sorted it didnt deter from the holiday. Lovely surroundings and everything easily accessible for both walking and driving. We will be back xx

This property was an absolute joy to spend your holiday in. Spotlessly clean and welcoming. A walled garden with a large choice of seating to end your day relaxing. Being a group of ladies of a certain age loved having our own ensuite bedroom. The entrance to the rear parking we missed but then realised it is next to property 102, if that helps future holiday visitors. Totally recommend this property .

Fabulous property for a get together. Clean and comfortable with great kitchen equipment. Super fridge freezer with ice and chilled water dispenser to relax in the sunny garden. Beds comfortable and treat to have ensuite in every room. Lounge provided a cool environment in the heat with a tv for a film night. Easy reach to beach and a fantastic holiday thank you.

Very spacious, spent most of the time, when there in the lovely conservatorydining and the lovely garden.

We really enjoyed our stay at the White House which we found to be very comfortable and welcoming. The minor reasons for giving the property 4 stars instead of 5 are as follows 1 The television picture is very poor being dark and blue tinted in parts. We were unable to improve the picture using the television's settings and we would suggest that it is due for replacement. Additionally, only free to air and nonHD channels were available. 2 The central heating went on and off at strange times but we were unable to correct this because there was no manual for the boiler. The thermostat is however centrally placed and easily operated. 3 We would suggest that the description of the car parking space is updated to reflect the very narrow nature of access and egress plus suggest a maximum of 3 rather than 4 parking spaces given the nature of the turning space. 4 The refuse and recycling instructions were not clear, especially in relation to what could be recycled and which bin to put this in both bins were the same colour with a separate box for glass. The above are minor points and we would happily return to the Whitehouse for a future stay.

It was the perfect place for 5 couples and 4 dogs thank you letting us bring all our boys. Spacious and great communal area we cooked in every night. Location was perfect Beach one way town the other. Enclosed large garden for dogs. Comfy beds and bathrooms all good. Parking ample with great access. We will be back.
