Overall, we had a good impression of the cottage and enjoyed our stay. The location is great, with West Bay only about a 10minute walk along the old railway track. There are also regular buses if you don't want to drive into Bridport, which is well worth a visit especially on market days It's a great location for families, with a play area right next door and another really good one on the walk into West Bay. The cottage was clean on arrival and well equipped. The kitchen had a washing machine and dishwasher, with tabletspowder supplied, which was a nice touch. Eco liquid soap was also provided in each bathroom, which we appreciated. There was plenty of space, particularly as the cottage has two lounges, which worked really well. The water pressure was good in both bathrooms. There were plenty of pillows and bedding, and having clean towels laid out on the beds when we arrived was another nice touch. The WiFi was also good. The play area next door wasn't noisy or busy at all during our stay, although we were there in September after the schools had gone back, so this may be different during the school holidays. There was good parking for two cars, with plenty of parking available on the nearby road if additional cars were visiting. The rear garden was a good size, with great views across the fields towards West Bay. There was also a washing line, which was useful. There are a few areas where I think the cottage could benefit from some attention to general maintenance, particularly in the main bathroom. For example, some of the silicone around the floor could do with replacing. Also it was nice to have a stair gate at the bottom of the stairs but one is also needed at the top in my view. I used the double bed and felt that the mattress could do with being replaced, as it wasn't particularly comfortable. The kitchen was well appointed but is quite narrow, although this is clear from the photographs so it wasn't a surprise. The dining area was also a little narrow. Some of the other guests mentioned that they would have preferred the ensuite to have a door for additional privacy. Apart from these few points, we enjoyed our stay and I would happily stay here again. Overall, I would give the cottage 4 out of 5.

This was our 4th consecutive year of staying and we were not disappointed. The overall space in the house is great for our needs as we spend a lot of time in there, plus the close proximity to the Bay and being able to walk there. Welcomed the earlier check in time and the key box placement at the door, plus nice job on the ensuite, though a window blind and door would finish it off. It's obviously taken some wear and tear over the year visible on the hallway and stair walls, plus stains on the carpets, but nothing that would stop us booking again next year. Only negative is the struggle to get in through the narrow shower door in the main bathroom. Thanks for letting us stay in your home!

Excellent holiday home for a multi family plus dog stay at West Bay. House is very well equipped and clean. Plenty of space to sit around downstairs. Easy walk into West Bay and a pleasant walk to Bridport either on the old rail path, or across the fields on the other side of the river. Convenient for the coast path. Plenty of space to park two cars, and the location is very quiet. Only issue I had was the external CCTV cameras have green lights on at night as though they are running while we were there. No declaration of the CCTV on the Sykes listing for the property, so not complying with Sykes security camera policy.

We had a lovely holiday in Westbay and the property was well located, comfortable and suited our needs. However, there was a persistent underlying smellodour throughout the house which unfortunately made the stay less comfortable than we had hoped. Whilst it didn't ruin our holiday, the smell was noticeable throughout our visit and detracted from our overall enjoyment of the accommodation. We feel this is something that should be investigated and addressed for future guests. Overall, we enjoyed our time in Dorset, but the issue with the odour means we cannot give a higher rating. With this issue resolved, the property would provide a much more enjoyable experience for guests.

A lovely cosy and beautiful house. Spotlessly clean and comfortable with every facility a family needs for a wonderful holiday. Perfectly positioned for a walk either to the beach or to the town of Bridport.

Fantastic week in this lovely comfortable accommodation! Pleasant 5 minuteish walk into West Bay walking past the playpark and where the car boot sale is on Sundays, longer walk to Bridport via roads or fields or along the cliffs if you fancy it. Well stocked kitchen, we've got into the habit of bringing our own large pans and sharp knives but for the first time ever it wasn't necessary as they had everything we needed pans, knives, bottle openers, loads of glasses and mugs and tons of storage space. Highlights are the view from the conservatory of course, we spent most evenings out there or in the garden with a glass of wine admiring the fields and greenery. Plenty of seats in the front room, in fact the kids have added to your DVD library, but it was lovely being able to put a film on for them in this room or join them for a few games but having a choice to sit in the conservatory for some adult space. We will definitely visit again! Feedback notes There are some loose door handles around the house left back hob doesn't work, and none will ignite without using matches luckily we brought some with us Missing window keys! We visited during a heatwave and we were unable to open the windows in a few of the bedrooms and it was a bit stifling Plus please update your instructions for bin days, as it has the wrong day in the print out above the bin! I presume the previous guests struggled as their rubbish wasn't collected, which meant it was already nearly full when we arrived. We did get them out on time in our week, but the bin men didn't take one of the bins away so it'll be full for the next visitors too!

We have just spent 4 great days at West Bay Holiday Home. The house was very comfortable, spotless and well appointed. The location and views were fantastic and the peace and quiet was wonderful! I would definitely recommend this property. It is particularly good for families with children with a fabulous play area by the side of the house.

This is our 3rd consecutive year of staying in this cottage we like it so much. It is perfectly situated close to the Bay, spacious and we particularly like the changes made to the kitchen and front garden access to the key box. Perhaps some money could be invested on the ensuite bathroom next. Our only negative is the very late check in of 5pm and checkout of 10am. It doesn't take 7hrs to clean a property of this size, especially when bedding is stripped by the guests.

House brilliant everything required except no cleaningdisinfectant etc to use. Location couldnt be better 10 minutes to walk to West Bay. TLC and maintenance required to patio doors, most door knobs loose. We had 2 wasp nests in brick workneed seriously looking at. But will definitely recommend and will be back.

This property is ideal for families happy to walk the 10 minutes to beach saving parking charges. There is a small park right next door to property and a fabulous one on the walk to the beach suitable for bigger children. The garden is big enough for a kick around. We loved the conservatoryorangery and spent most of our time in there. The garden is south facing and appears to be quite protected from winds. We had a lovely weekend 5 adults and 3 children 9, 7 and 3. The bed set us is a bit different but worked for us.

A lovely, cosy cottage with wonderful views of West Bay. West Bay is just a 10 minutes stroll from the front door. Easy access to the South West coastal path and just a short drive to Charmouth for fossil hunting.

We had a lovely holiday with all the family. Beautiful views and an easy walk into West bay. House was very comfortable and warm. Catered for all our needs. Also nice to have cot and highchair without having to pay extra. The welcome pack was really appreciated. Thank you. X

Lovely house, slightly odd layout with single bunk but exactly as described. Perfect for our family visit to Bridport and West Bay.

We had such a lovely stay in West Bay. If anything, the house exceeded our expectations having booked relatively late, we thought we may end up in a noisy environment but it was one of the most peaceful, relaxing homes we have ever stayed in. Facilities were great, plenty of space for 7 adults, views of the bay, and lovely walks to West Bay and Bridport. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy such a wonderful week.

This was an ideal holiday home for a three generation family dog. Bedrooms were a good size with plenty of cupboard space. Lovely linen and soft white towels in the well appointed bathroom and ensuite. The 'orangery' was very comfortable we never used the sitting room or TV. The playground next door is suitable for small children but there is a much larger playground on the way to the beach only a few minutes walk away and a handy Spar.

An excellent weekend for us. A perfect location with access to West Bay and the coast. No complaints from us and thank you for the generous welcome pack.

Extremely clean well equipped and comfortable house with lovely views from rear of property. . The path to west bay was a big bonus. We eat at the station,seagulls and haddon house all 3 were lovely. Definitely a place to return to! There are a couple of maintenance jobs required 1. Beading in main bathroom shower base needs refixing. 2. Door handles are loose in some rooms 3. Boiler in utility is very noisymay need servicing. These are not criticisms just observations. Please thank the cleaner the house was spotless and after a bad experience last year with a filthy let in Dartmouth we were very relieved. Thank you

A beautiful home in a fab location. Lots of space for our family with easy access to the beach, town and other areas of interest. So glad we chose West Bay and got to explore the beautiful Jurassic Coast during our stay. Arrangements were easy to follow with quick and helpful responses to our queries. A great choice for our holiday. Thank you!

The house is a great base for a family holiday. It was comfortable, clean and well equipped. We took our own garden chairs as the provided static picnic bench was a little limiting. There was also no shade in the south facing garden, which meant retreating into the house during peak sunshine. There were some plumbing issues which the owners agent dealt with promptly and in good humour. Despite these minor issues, we are more than happy with the house, its condition and location. West Bay is a great place for family visits and exploring the coast. Being a five minute footpath walk away from its surprisingly modern amenities and infrastructure was very handy. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and had an unforgettable family break.

A good holiday property. The week was greatly enjoyed by our 3 generation family dog. Garden was properly dogsafe not always the case! Best thing about the property was the lovely sun room. Situation was good with a short footpath walk to the beach and centre of village. The views of open countryside from the back of the house were beautiful. DO NOT follow satnav we drove 3 times round the little estate before we found the house!!! Would consider booking again.

Great location. Lovely house, comfortable and well furnished. A few things that could perhaps be improved. This criticism is only information for the owner to improve the experience for the customer as we would stay here again. Very thin summer duvet on the double bed for December and no spare bedding. Only six dining chairs. We were 7 adults Far too much unnecessary kitchen utensils in the kitchen drawers but no potato peeler or small sharp knife. There was 24sets of knives and forks !!!! Only two small roasting tins .Had to go and buy one for the Turkey More chopping boards would be nice. A set of wine glasses for 8 people. Some Xmas decorations would be nice being that we were there for a whole week.

On arrival we found that the majority of downstairs lighting didnt work, my husband called the contact number around 6. 30pm and she said she was going to call us, but had not. She said she would get an electrician in so await a call about access. This call nor an electrician never materialised. We left the keys in the key lock when we left the property daily which was an annoyance as it was low down and a fiddle to use. Luckly there were enough lamps to allow general usage of the lounge and dining area. Using the downstairs toilet in the evening was not as easy. Also the door knob to this facility almost fell off everytime it was used. The upstairs doors squeaked enough to disturb our friends in the en suite room as we used the bathroom during the night from our bedroom. I found a cracked glass in the cupboard, so luck that the kitchen lights still worked. The kettle had lost its whistle and if left unsupervised would have boiled dry, my husband left a note to say this for the cleaner. Which we appreciate is separate from Sykes. The garden had a lovely south facing aspect, but there were no comfortable chairs nor shade provided for its use. There was a picnic bench for four and two seat chair, neither adequate for comfortable reading etc. Which was a shame as the weather was glorious. I had read that we should bring COVID19 precautions ourselves, but was disappointed that none at all were provided, not even a gel for entry to the property. The in house seating for four was comfortable and spacious. There was plenty of crockery, cutlery and towels. The position of the house only a short stroll into West Bay was ideal, with lots to see and do within the locality. Overall, we were comfortable, and I apprieciate the price increases due to the current situation, but felt for the price it was not to the standard I expected.
