The Little Rose Reviews

Fantastic stay. The house had everything we needed. Perfect for a family holiday.
George
Fantastic location in the centre of Lyme Regis. Next to a busy narrow road, a little too noisy for us and for safety reason we decided not to bring our young dog. It did cause us great concern when unloading and loading the car. The cottage is full of character with all amenities and an excellent heating system and contributed significantly to us having a great memorable holiday.
The Little Rose is the perfect cottage for a family getaway, perfect location, spotless and presented with such generosity, from the thoughtful welcome bag filled with goodies to well equipped kitchen and beautiful spacious rooms all well heated. Our Thanks to the Owner!
Verity
Beautiful property, very well equipped in a perfect location for exploring Lyme Regis! We had a wonderful weekend
What a great find. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again.
Maxine
Lovely stay. Perfect central location. Very spacious. Mattresses are a little soft bur thats personal preference.
Really lovely property and a great location
Third visit, fabulous location thrilled to see the bedroom on the first floor has new blackout blinds, but a little disappointed the blind in the twin bedroom blind was still broken a year on. Some potential suggestion for comfort would be either a heated clothes dryer or a tumble dryer as it's impossible to dry beach towels. Also a plea for crisp cotton bedding, rather than polyester and fitted sheets would make a much more comfortable night's sleep.
We had a lovely stay at The Little Rose. It was the perfect place for us to stay with four adults and three children. The house was spotless, the beds are so comfortable and it was so well equipped, even buckets and spades for the children to use at the beach and board games for them to play. Thank you for a wonderful place to relax after exploring beautiful Lyme Regis.
Our third stay at Little Rose. This time we had 6 adults, 1 teenager and one dog which is more than previously. As per the description it was not as comfortable with more than 6 adults. It was surface clean however could do with a deep clean. Also the blind in the twin bedroom was broken which has been commented on by previous guests. Luckily the weather was amazing so we were able to get outdoors a lot of the time.
What a great place for a few nights away in Lyme Regis. The house was so well equipped with everything we needed. Super comfy beds and bed linen, plenty of seating, well equipped kitchen. Lots of books, board games, cards etc. Brilliant location for walking along the front or up to the shops.
We had a wonderful stay. The property was immaculately clean, spacious and provided with everything we needed. The position couldnt be better and the level of comfort was outstanding. Thank you for such a happy week in a beautiful and very friendly town.
Rachel
Lovely, quirky house. Great use of the space. Cosy and comfortable and really well equipped. Lovely bathrooms with great showers. Location was excellent right in the heart of Lyme Regis with everything in walking distance. Only slight negative was the traffic noise in the mornings. Would definitely recommend.
We really enjoyed our stay at Little Rose. The property was very cosy and comfortable especially the beds and the location superb! The welcome package was much appreciated thank you!
Michelle
Beautiful historic home, that has been lovingly restored and cared for. Great having dishwasher tabs and dishwashing liquid supplied, so odd that clothes washing detergentpowder, body wash or facecloths were not.
The property is ideally located and a good size. It's priced appropriately and works well for our family and small dog. However, I appreciate it's a tight turnover, but the property is in desperate need of a deep clean. I saw a previous comment that one of the blinds was broken and it had been mentioned numerous times, in which the agency responded that it had now been fixed it hadn't. I emailed at the beginning of the week, notifying that in fact TWO blinds were broken, with no response. Can I suggest that when the blinds are eventually fixed, they're swapped out for blackout blinds too? It's gorgeous waking up to a sunny day but not at 4.30am
The property was spotlessly clean and comfortable, the welcome pack much appreciated and all of the facilities met the needs of our party of eight which ranged from seven months to 71 years. The property is ideally situated within a stone's throw of the sea front and also to the centre of Lyme Regis with all of its shops, pubs and eateries. We had a really lovely week. The only complaints would be about a faulty blind in the second floor bedroom which had been mentioned in the guest comment book the previous month and of which the owner was already aware.
Lovely cottage fantastic location will definitely book again xxx
Maxine
Had a smashing time we all loved it especially the bath! !!!
Lovely property . Amazing location close to all amenities but due to this can be noisy especially very early morning. Very well maintained
Andrew
Had a great weekend and the location could not have been better just 50 yards from the sea front and next door to the Guildhall where my daughter was getting Married. Could not have been better
Absolutely lovely cottage great location Served our family well for what has ... Absolutely lovely cottage great location Served our family well for what has been another fabulous holiday in lovely Lyme
All good thank you, lovely house , a bit noisy in the mornings with the traffic ... All good thank you, lovely house , a bit noisy in the mornings with the traffic but not enough to keep me from staying there again, everyone moaned about having to strip the beds before we left 4 men
We have been visiting Lyme for over 40 years and this is the best property we have ever stayed in. It was unfortunately very noisy on the Saturday night due to a reggae event at the theatre with people shouting and singing outside until nearly 2am which we have never encountered in Lyme before.
Great cottage with modern, high quality amenities. Location couldn't be better, Lyme Regis as excellent as ever.

Our party of seven aged 8 64 and the dog had a wonderful stay at The Little Rose over Easter, whilst also celebrating a 40th birthday. The welcome pack was lovely and much appreciated. The cottage is vey spacious inside, the beds are really comfy and the kitchen extremely well equipped. Amazing attention to detail was felt throughout the cottage and every room very tastefully decorated and furnished. The beach is a two minute stroll away, as are the main shops in Broad Street and the lovely little ones hidden away on the side streets. Would love to to come back
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful and well appointed cottage with us! We've stayed in several places in Lyme over the years but have never been so close to the seafront just magical! Would have loved to have stayed longer but diaries didn't work out, hopefully next time!
Lovely place, great for 5 adults and 3 children 5,7 &13. Super comfy beds I'd love to know what mattresses you have!. Can't fault the property at all and would return. Parking in Lyme is always tricky & due to the property being right on the road, unloading and loading is tricky but this is the only negative and would not put me off booking again.
What a fantastic house. An amazing place to relax. Very well situated to make everything within an easy walk. We hope to return. Thank you.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Little Rose. Comfy beds, very well equipped, lovely bathrooms. We have stayed at Lyme Regis or nearby for quite a few years and this was our favourite place so far, amazing location for the convenience of town, pubs and sea front. It it wasn't already booked, we were going to book again for Easter hols! I'm sure we will be back though. Thank you for letting us enjoy your beautiful house.
The property is lovely, and in a fantastic location! However, we really struggled with the fact it was between the traffic lights in the village on arrival day and think this could definitely be made clearer in the booking. It wouldn't put us off staying there but there is literally nowhere to stop your car, drop bags and grab the parking permit so you need to be a bit more prepared for that. Apart from that the cottage was lovely, there was so much space for 7 of us and the location is so convenient. A beautiful property.
We had a very enjoyable stay despite the weather trying to spoil things. Little Rose lived up to our expectations and we are excited about returning next year.
Nichola
Wonderful stay at this lovely house. Really clean, comfy, and had everything we needed. Perfect location for the beach and shops.
Our first holiday away with our 22month granddaughter and family. They chose the cottage, couldnt have been a better choice. Everything so thoughtfully worked out. We very much appreciated the welcome hamper. All high spec beautiful bathrooms and comfortable beds & linen. Home from Home. Great place to stay. Our granddaughter loved walking ambling along the sea front and played very happily in the sand with her bucket and spade. We found the sea air and unusually mild weather very restorative, and we all slept well. Even the toddler. The dog Lilly had a wonderful time too. Once we had negotiated the low ceilings and doorways were a tall family! and had a few bumped heads we were fine. Looking forward to coming back very soon.
Lauren
A really lovely stay in this beautiful cottage. In the centre of Lyme Regis, close to practically everything. Yes, a little bit of road noise, but it really wasnt a problem. My parents took the back bedroom and didnt hear a thing. Car parking a 5 minute walk away unloadingloading a little stressful with two small children, but we loved leaving the car and not driving for the week, so it was well worth it. Cottage has everything you need, with a well equipped kitchen, games etc. and a nice welcome hamper of local goodies. Beds were dreamy comfy with gorgeous linen. Stairs not a problem for my 3yr old. Dog friendly, despite the private garden being a few steps from the back door. The large fridgefreezer wasnt working for our stay, but we were given a replacement unfortunately not enough space inside for our Ocado delivery, and did take up valuable floor space just inside the door. Thank you so much for a great stay, we had a perfect week
A very nice, newly renovated cottage with a central location which is very convenient for everything that Lyme has to offer. The accommodation has 4 good bedrooms and a decent size table for all to sit at. It is situated on the main thoroughfare in Lyme and, whilst this did not bother us, it might be a problem for light sleepers. The letting agency Lyme Bay Holidays is now owned by Sykes Cottages and this has resulted in a regrettable reduction in service level. Not only do they charge more for booking but also when there is a problem, it is almost impossible to contact them to report it without an unnecessary degree of security checks, which meant that we gave up trying. This is very disappointing after the service we have been used to for the last 10 years from LBH and I think that Sykes really need to reconsider their approach to their guests.
Lovely property in a great location to the town and beaches. Spotlessly clean and with lots of plates, cups etc. There was no shortage of cooking utensils or equipment to cook with. The downside would be the property being on a very busy road which made it difficult to sleep at night and early morning due to the traffic noise. I understand its a 17th century property but the low doors and beams did mean a few head bumps and bruises as my son and I are over six foot tall. Having said all that because of the great weather we didnt need to stay in the property much.
