Bay Cottage Reviews

Bay Cottage was the perfect place for our girls weekend. Spacious, very well decorated and comfortable with most things you'd need provided. I would highly recommend this property. A couple of things to note for your stay 1 Toiletries are not provided so make sure you bring your own. 2 Like most holiday lets, bath towels are provided but no bath sheets so if you prefer a larger towel, bring these too. 3 The road that the property is on is quite narrow so bear this in mind if you have a larger car. A few notes of feedback to the owner 1 The plug in the bath doesn't work. 2 Upon arrival we discovered an unpleasant odour coming from the dishwasher. Once we ran a empty cycle with a tablet it was fine but this might be something to consider in between guests. The door was also very stiff and creaky and the lack of cutlery basket was a little frustrating. 3 The knives in the knife block could do with a sharpen. 4 As mentioned in previous reviews, the lack of bannister in the small section between the first floor and few steps down was a bit worrying. 5 The blind in the attic room wasn't actually attached to the window. 6 Thank you so much for our lovely welcome goodies in the kitchen, they were much appreciated. However, the tea provided was out of date so this might be worth checking. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and will keep Bay Cottage in mind for future special occasions
This property was as advertised and a very nice place to stay but the listing fails to mention a few important points. Like, no hand rail on steep stair cases, no toilet paper supplied, no kitchen roll supplied, no slip mats in the bath and shower. Only one medium sized towel per person. lucky there was only 3 of us . Only one front door key for a house that holds nine. With it's location and parking problems, I really do think this house does not suit the older generation but rather the younger, more fit and able age groups.

The property was a good space. Kitchen layout lovely, beds were comfortable and I had great nights sleeping. Location was good and the pub on the end of the road played some great live music which we could listen to in the comfort of the property. We had new fans to put in the rooms when it was hot, plenty of storage to unpack and store clothes. I would stay here again the only slight challenge we had was the lack of parking having said that we found a local space close to the property using the Just Park app.
Valerie
House is lovely beds very comfy. Showers very good and kitchen good supply of utensils. Cushions in sitting room feather filled working out of covers and can be quite stabby and messy. Mention in listing of feathered bedding would be handy for those with allergies. We went out and bought our own pillows. Bins in a house that holds 8 an empty bin is required disappointed this was an issue. Twice confirmed it would be emptied. Didnt happen. Excitement of arriving was flattened when felt getting ready for us was not completed.

The property was very nice and in a good position. The beds, furniture cleanliness and facilities were all very good Only one complaint the stairs needed a rail especially any trip to the bathroom at night was hazardous for older people. Also my grandson is allergic and they're were only feather duvets. A voice would be preferable. Otherwise everything was very nice.

A lovely home in Weymouth. The owners left a very thoughtful welcome pack which was a lovely surprise. Parking can be tricky but neighbours are very helpful.

Absolutely beautiful property, great location gorgeous house and very comfy and well equipped
Overall house very clean and well presented, and as described. Kitchen had plenty of utensils and crockery but none of the basics such as tin foil, which are really helpful for a short stay and bathrooms rather light on toilet rolls Garden space was useful too but a 4th chair would have helped. Dining Rea great and lounge cosy was big enough for us but too small if the house is full. Despite these comments, liked it and would book again if in the Weymouth area. No pa
A wonderful house in an ideal location to enjoy everything Weymouth has to offer. Views over the town and out to see were stunning and there were great pubs and places to eat very close by around the harbour. The house itself was real quality with great furnishings and decor. Very comfy beds too... very important. Would certainly stay there again.
Very nice place , very unique pub on the corner , not far from city center
This is a gorgeous holiday home, with ample space for everyone. The house had everything we needed, and is probably one of the best equipped I have been to. The kitchen had so many pots, pans, crockery, utensils and other equipment, which made it so much easier to eat in and cater for our party of 9. We also had to be a bit regimented with using the bathrooms, as 9 of us using 2 bathrooms was always going to be a challenge, but we managed. It's a shame that the large front bedroom hasn't got a small en suite bathroom, but perhaps that is something which could be thought about in the future. Our bed was very comfortable, and everyone else seemed to be happy with their's too. The only downside for was the pillows, which are great quality, but were much too soft for me my husband and some others in our party. There was lots of storage for all of our clothes, and the washerdryer was a bonus, which meant we managed to take most things back home clean. We knew that on street parking would be awkward, due to being on a street of old houses which weren't originally built with cars in mind. But, once we'd dropped everything off, the car park near the harbour was close enough to use, and always had lots of space. The location is perfect for Nothe Fort, the harbour, the town centre, the beach and so much more. Although, anyone with health issues might struggle with the steep hill or steps back to the property. We still managed, even though our party was aged from 7 to 70, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The outside space was fine to sit out on, but the unused space behind that would be ideal if developed more to include maybe another building to sit in seperate from the main house or have as a games room or tv room. All in all, we had a wonderful holiday, in a great location, with use of an incredibly equipped house.

We stayed here as part of 2 families 4 adults and 4 young people. The house was large enough so it didnt feel we were under each others feet. The location of this property is really special and is literally a 5 minute walk to the beautiful harbour. There are 2 routes you can take, either walking up to the pub at the end of the road and turning right or going down the hill to the left as you exit the house. Although there isnt parking available we did manage to find off street parking about 5 mins from the property we actually parked near the traffic lights that you have to pass to get to the street I wouldnt bother using one of the car parks due to the cost. The facilities in the house were excellent and the house looks exactly like the photos on the website. We enjoyed the stay some much we would definitely come back again.
The house is very nice comfortable and well equipped. Our only issue was that the dishwasher was not working but the owners did offer compensation when it could not be fixed during our stay. The location is really good, and we found on street parking with no problems.
There was some sort of mix up with the booking date. I had done all my searching for Friday through Monday, I didn't notice the offer was only until Sunday. This caused stress as It took a while to getthe Sunday night confirmed as available. I shall be more cautions in future.
Thomas
Very stylish and spacious modern cottage with lovely deck at the back to relax. Views of the sea from 3rd floor attic bedroom. Quiet cottage, Very clean. Kitchen had all that needed if wish to cook. Only minutes from the restaurants on the picturesque old quay side. Parking was easier later in the week once we understood one way streets in the surrounding area that could park but did use the car park a few minutes away as could leave car overnight.
