Manor Lodge Reviews

This is a great house with a superb highwalled garden for children to run around in. Very spacious. Excellent and spotless en suite facilities and a large well provisioned kitchen. There were some minor problems no food waste bin provided, whoever the local caretaker is, heshe keeps a very low profile, leaking water on the pantry floor, apparently from the freezer. Also the dishwasher tilts alarmingly when being loaded. It needs anchoring, perhaps. The agency Sykes Cottages seems to be a collection of the usual robotic types located several hundred miles away who know nothing about the property quite normal in this digital age.
It was an excellent stay and our second at this house. The only thing I would say is that we had to bring our own BBQ which is not very good for such a high end property. There were 2 BBQs in a chalet but we didn't know if these were for guest use I emailed Sykes to ask but had no reply.

We had a lovely holiday at Manor Lodge. The welcome pack was much appreciated and the grandchildren loved the garden.
We were a group of 7 singles looking for somewhere to stay, play music and enjoy walking and trips. Manor Lodge was perfect, with the addition of a small Airbnb place 50 yards along the road for the 7th person. With 6 huge bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, a well equipped kitchen, plenty of socialising space downstairs, a lovely garden and walking distance of the beach it could not have been better.
Judith
We really enjoyed staying at Manor Lodge, it was a perfect location with an easy walk to Hive Beach and to the village. The house was very well equipped, specially in the kitchen department although a few more mugs would have been handy, we used them so often. The sitting roomdining room was perfect for socialising as well as eating, we appreciated the games and books provided. The bedrooms were supercomfy with a bathroom each plenty of space for 8 of us. One word of caution don't arrange to eat at the Anchor pub until you've checked the prices ...
Stephen
A great location for a large grown up family with three generation.
Simeon
The house is far better than the photos suggest. The garden in particular is a thing of wonder. It is generally well maintained but the door on the master bedroom does not close and the fridge was quite grubby inside when we arrived. Also the previous guests had not put the bins out so some were very full. Location is great in every way. I would happily recommend.
Very spacious house, large bedrooms and kitchen, cleaned immaculately except for the food waste bin which was the most disgusting thing I have ever seen and no outside tap to clean it and very comfortable. It was perfect for our party of 10. A few minor electronic things didn't work, eg the TV in the kitchen constantly goes on and off, bathroom mirror not connected and the dishwasher was challenging! Wonderful huge garden with mowed lawn, perfect for the children to run around. Could use a parasol as the outside tables have no shade.
Kavita
Very nice and spacious property. Excellent instructions. Easy check in and out. Cute little hamper also provided.
Lovely house and garden. Very well equipped for amount of guests. Nice welcome hamper and brilliant to have a bag of ice in freezer as we had forgotten. All was great.
One bedroom door did not have the centre door catch for keeping the door closed. Otherwise, the property had excellent kitchen and utility facilities, and comfortable large bedrooms and socialising areas.
Jacqueline
An excellent property, which is spacious, light, well equipped with quality items for twelve people, and clean. There are plenty of areas for spreading out, but also the dining room and lounge areas can accommodate everyone together. The large private garden has sun and shade, and has enough furniture for seating twelve. The chalet is an added bonus as a chill out area. Generally everything was in good order. The house is homely , but there is not the sense of impinging on the home of another family. There are security gates and adequate parking for a large group . Communication was good and clear entry instructions. The village has two pubs in which to eat, a post office shop and garage. The beach is a ten minute walk away. A wonderful house for a large group of people.
