Royal Oak House Reviews

Elaine
We had a fabulous weekend at Royal Oak House with all our family celebrating my husband's special birthday. It is a stunning and wellequipped property, and there is so much to do that you don't need to go out at all! The big kids loved the pool table and games room, the little ones adored all the toys on the landing, and everybody enjoyed the swimming pool. It is a special place, and has given us precious memories which will last forever.
Great house for a large party. Secure parking for several cars. Clean and well equipped, although a few more mugs and different glasses would help. Super grounds for children. The house was quite cool on arrival, the agent came to adjust but the house never really felt hot. The skittle alley had no heating at all and was very cold. Several light bulbs need replacing. But a great time was had by all.
Fab property for family winter get together. The location is great for Longleat, Stourhead , Shaftesbury & Compton Abbas Airfield but the property is the real highlight. Plenty of space for 12, comfy beds, amazing kitchendining area & we had a lot of fun with the skittle alleygames room. The Community village shop 100m away is well worth supporting & the Coppleridge Inn is walking distance. Already recommended to friends!

Ive only got superlatives to describe the family weekend we had at the fabulous Royal Oak House! It was an absolute privilege to stay in such a beautiful, stylish, comfortable, immaculate place with so many things to take part in and enjoy. The lavishness of the place was stunning and we had a wonderful family weekend. Thank you so much to the owners for making your amazing home available. We so appreciated it!
We are an extended family of 14 comprising grandparents, three adult children, their spouses and 6 grandchildren ranging from 18. We enjoyed a family weekend last year at a property we sourced from AirBnB. The property was large and scruffy but we enjoyed that holiday despite it. We were determined this year to find something better. Royal Oak House looked suitable. When we got there it wasnt suitable it was wonderful! The property is decorated to a very high standard and the wood of the staircases is beautiful oak. The kitchen which has extensive beautiful marble surfaces is huge! The equipment was everything you could think of and completely up to date. There were literally dozens of cupboards, beautifully fitted, but there were no labels so every time we wanted something it led to a hunt lasting some time. There is a huge dining table which easily accommodated all of us and the whole dining experience was exceptional. The room looks out onto the garden and there are folding doors which in the summer makes the kitchen a part of a lovely patio and garden There is a choice of lovely sitting rooms one of which had a TV bigger than anything wed experienced. However it took a little time to find, as its housed in a lovely cupboard with closed doors. The bedrooms were all well decorated and comfortable, and the bathrooms, not only ensuite for most rooms, but fully equipped and with the biggest baths weve seen. What really surprised us was the facilities that were provided for the children. Outside there are swings, a closed swimming poolit was October which was big enough to properly swim in, a trampoline and a large lawn easily big enough to play football on. If that wasnt enough there was a wonderful play house. This is on two storieseach big enough for an adult to stand in. The children could get in and out in a number of exciting but safe ways, ladder, steps up an elephants trunk! and rope and a firemanpole. They loved it! However another building, which we thought was a garage, turned out to be a games room for everybody! Table football, table tennis, weights and running machine and, everybodys favourite, a full size skittle alley. There is also a pool table in one of the sitting areas. The kids, of all ages, loved that room! We had taken with us various games , chess, Connect 4 etc. they all stayed in our cars! We had initially thought that the price for the weekend was high but having now experienced Royal Oak House we know why! It gave us a wonderful weekend with children saying they wanted to return soon. Hopefully we will!

What can I say this holiday was the best we have ever had in the UK. The house is amazing the pool is fantastic if you have children loads of stuff in the pool room to use in the pool. Back in the house there is nothing you would need as it's all there the owners are fantastic as we meet them and could not do more for us would definitely come back again the jones family
The Royal Oak House was an amazing property the interior design carried out with flair and imagination. The facilities were perfect for a three generation family holiday. The grandchildren enjoyed the skittle alley, the play area but mainly the swimming pool. It was a pleasure to stay there!
Beautiful home with fantastic facilities, just what we needed for a whole family holiday. Would highly recommend.
The Royal Oak House exceeded our expectations, there were 12 of us in all with plenty of room to disperse around the spectacularly decorated house. The owners responded promptly to messagesrequests and were truly accommodating. Everything we needed for a relaxing yet entertaining weekend was there, all of our party enjoyed the swimming pool as well. We cannot recommend this property highly enough, thank you very much kind regards Martyn and Barbara Edwards.
We had a fantastic time at Royal Oak House. What an amazing property, it had everything we could have wanted. The kids absolutely loved the pool, the elephant and the games room. There was so much space for us all to spread out. We loved all the artwork and the lights, which gave it a really nice feeling. It was lovely to have the welcome pack, it meant we could have a cup of tea and cake as soon as we arrived! The kitchen was fabulous, plenty of oven and fridgefreezer space and two dishwashers was a bonus too. I have only marked the comfort down slightly as we all found the sofas in the lounge werent that comfortable, but a very minor point in what was one of the best houses weve ever stayed in.
Nicholas
Thank you for letting us stay in your home. It was a fantastic house with everything you could need provided for. We loved our stay here. Very spacious and comfortable. I will definitely book this property again and would highly recommend it.
Absolutely fabulous house! THE BEST for kids. So much space. Only fault is a huge house for so many people needs more than a 2 slice toaster.
Amanda
By far THE BEST holiday home we have ever stayed in. It is absolutely stunning and has been designed with no expense spared. It has everything you could possibly need while there. We felt like celebrities for the weekend and cannot wait to book again. Thanks you so much.
The house was brilliant and had everything we needed. Thank you so much.
Stunning property, ample space and things to do. Kitchen has everything you would need and more! Beds are so comfortable. 1015 walk to nearest pub where the food was lovely! Highly recommend this place, thank you so much for a lovely stay.
Joanna
